Bout’ a rap I wrote
I wrote it then I spoke it
All around the globe.

And the funny little thing
About this rap
Was it never was intended
For such an impact.

It simply started out
As a crazy idea
I simply had a story
That I wanted to share.

And, the story had a message
The message had a beat
The only way to test it
Was take it to the street.

The stage was set
Vancouver style
One hundred tech women
Learning agile.

And my palms were sweaty
I took a deep breath
In the minute, I went with it
Story telling with depth.

And the place lit up
The rap was a hit
Something had happened
That I didn’t predict.

I learned that day
My vulnerability
Is the key to connecting
To those around me.

I rapped in New York
And Amsterdam,
Singapore, Venice
And even Brisbane.

Everywhere I went
No matter the place
When I shared my truth
I created safe space.

My message is simple
Just keep it real
Vulnerability means
That we can say how we feel.

It’s time to step up
And lead with humility
Cause our people are the key
To true agility.
